This power cable is composed on one side with a male 3-pin mains connector for UK / South Africa plug and on the other side which connects to the appliance with an IEC C13 type connector.
G socket defined BS1363 and commonly referred to as UK or South Africa. This plug has three rectangular contacts arranged in a triangle. In the sockets there is also a fuse with the purpose of protecting the wiring before the 13A appliance. This connection system is adopted not only in the United Kingdom but also in many former British colonies: Ireland, Cyprus, Botswana, Ghana, Malta, Hong Kong, Macao, Malaysia, Oman, Singapore, Kenya, United Arab Emirates, Iraq and Qatar.
The C13 input connector is used to connect the power cord in personal computers, monitors, printers and many other electronic devices.
The H05VV-F cable is a harmonized cable. The H05VV-F cables are suitable for domestic appliances even in humid environments and for cooking and heating appliances as long as they are not in contact with hot parts or subject to thermal radiation. Not suitable for outdoor use, in industrial or agricultural workshops and for non-domestic portable tools.
This cable has a maximum capacity of 10A as the plug and the 3×1.5 section do not withstand higher currents.
