Electromagnets and DC Solenoids

Electromagnets or solenoids are devices that are used to create a linear or rotary movement, have the same purpose as actuators or motors but are much simpler and cheaper.

Depending on the design, the electromagnet can produce linear or rotary motion:

• Linear solenoids provide a pulling or pushing force or mechanical movement, which can be one-way or two-way. Many varieties and configurations are available of these models including: Tubular solenoids, open solenoids, low profile e latching solenoids.
• The rotary solenoids, on the other hand, generate angular movement. Their compact design produces a high torque / size ratio with the ability to operate clockwise or counterclockwise depending on the needs of the application
  The main applications are: safes, security control, electric locks, valves, lasers, shutters, medical equipment, sewing machines.
