Description

Linear solenoids provide a pulling or pushing mechanical force or movement, which can be either unidirectional or bidirectional. Since their operation is simpler than that of rotary solenoids, they are usually more cost-effective.

The movement is classified as pulling when the electromagnetic path draws the plunger into the solenoid body. Conversely, it is classified as pushing when the plunger extends out from the solenoid base to deliver a pushing action.

There are many varieties and configurations of these models available, including tubular solenoids, open-frame solenoids, low-profile solenoids, and latching solenoids.
